Survey the approach to your home
Steep drives, narrow turns, retaining walls, and upper-level rooms can complicate access. Photograph the route from parking to each working elevation before the site visit.
Keep water management visible
Discuss exterior flashing, sill condition, and drainage with the installer. A scenic location does not tell you the condition of the opening behind existing trim.
Plan for your property
A large picture window can frame a lake-facing outlook, while adjacent casements add ventilation. Plan access on sloped lots and check exterior detailing, water management, and association requirements before work begins.
